Improvement of "cracking" similar to cracks occurring on the press end face of special films.
Inspiration from leftover scraps! A case of discovering a way to insert a sponge that does not cause tearing.
We would like to introduce a case study on the improvement of "cracking" similar to cracks that occur on the press edge of our special films. We received a request to press a special film that suppresses the iridescence phenomenon into a rectangular shape using a Thomson blade. However, after approximately 9,000 uses, fine but sporadic substrate cracking began to occur again. In a hurry, we checked the pressing conditions for both the product and the waste parts, and found that the sponge used on the product side was affecting the cracking. We reviewed the sponge conditions and arrived at a method of inserting the sponge that does not cause cracking. Now, we can use the product not just for 9,000 times, but even for 30,000 times without any occurrence of cracking.
